ERIE, Pa. (KDKA) — The World’s Largest Rubber Duck is coming back to Pennsylvania this summer.
If you want to see it, you’ll have to travel to Erie.
The duck will be part of Erie’s annual Tall Ships Festival; this year taking place from Aug. 22-25. The festival features multiple ships, deck tours, day sails, music, entertainment, food and more.
In addition to all that, organizers say “The World’s Largest Duck!” will be returning for this year’s festivities.
The duck, which is more than six stories high and weighs 11 tons, last attended the festival in 2016, Erie News Now reports.
ALLOW ME TO REINTRODUCE MYSELF!!!!
The Ducks is coming back folks. This is as big as it gets. Literally, it is the world’s largest duck. This city loves to live large. We have a large ketchup bottle in our football stadium, play hockey inside a large paint can and have Melky Cabrera playing right field.
Okay, that last one was a bit mean but I’m sorry. I am just excited. The last time the duck was in Pittsburgh was 2013 and my goodness was that a fun summer. The Pens made a deep playoff run (lets not talk about how it ended) and the Buccos made the playoffs for the first time in two decades.
This city is in some major need of good mojo. The duck will provide that. If you haven’t gone down and bet your mortgage on the Pirates to make the playoffs, I would do so now. Maybe throw a few bills down on the Pens to beat the Islanders in seven as well. We just got our swagger back!
